Limited Release: 2018 Hand Bottled Magnums

We saved a portion from the 2018 vintage from three of our most popular ‘letters’ to create a run of super small batch, hand bottled magnums. These magnums are exclusive to Cellar Door and alphaboxdice.com and were hand bottled by our winemaking and Cellar Door team at our McLaren Vale winery. A rare collectors item for any AB&D fan.

A magnum of Siren is surely on any AB&D fan’s wishlist. One of our most popular wines we make, with the 2018 vintage being no exception as a single vintage wine from Blewitt Springs. Siren celebrates McLaren Vale’s vicinity to the sea, with Nero d’Avola’s Sicilian roots finding a new home in the region. The 750mL of this vintage has been sold out for months, so this is your final chance to own a piece of AB&D history and make an impression at your next dinner party.

WINEMAKING

+

While its roots are maritime, the 2018 Siren Nero d'Avola smells and tastes like it should be grown on a volcano – red ochre earth with a bright backbone. Due to Nero d'Avola’s natural acidity, we showcase a lighter side to this variety, choosing employ all the techniques of Pinot Noir production to create a style of wine from a region that usually couldn't even comprehend doing so. Even those with unbreakable wills will be forced into capitulation – rich berry and plum fruits are underscored with enough abundant exotic spice, chocolate and lavender complexity to lure the canniest of wine drinkers to their fate.
