CELLAR DOOR FAQs
- What does the $10 tasting fee include?
The $10 tasting fee includes tasting pours of six premium Alpha Box & Dice wines for a 60 minute booking. Tastings are hosted by a knowledgeable tasting host and allow the option to stay on for a drink outside after your tasting (weather and capacity dependant). Optional extras include adding a Super Deluxe Platter or Vegan Misto Plate or substitute your wine tasting for a premium non-alcoholic beverage tasting thanks to our friends at Sometimes Always Cellars.
- Can I stay on for a wine and platter after a tasting?
Yes, we reserve the outdoor area exclusively for those who have completed their tasting experience to continue on with a wine and platter outside.
- Do I need a booking to visit?
Bookings are highly recommended as we run to strict capacities, but we will endeavour to fit you in for a tasting if we have space to do so.
- I don’t want a tasting, can I just turn up and have a glass of wine outside?
Due to our limited capacity, we reserve outdoor dining space for those who book in for our tastings to enjoy a wine or platter after their tasting, so it is not available to the public for casual visits without a tasting at this time.
- How long does a tasting last?
Bookings last for 60 minutes from your allocated booked session start time. Generally, the tasting will take at least 45 minutes to complete.
- What is the maximum group size you can accept?
We can only fit a maximum of 6 people on one table and 12 people per session. Therefore, you can book two tables of up to 6 for a total of up to 12 people. Please note that you will be seated on separate tables, but if you book under the same name, we will do our best to seat your tables as close together as possible.
- I have more than 12 people in my group, can I book in?
Due to our current capacities and the tasting format, we can’t accept more than 12 people in a session.
- Someone in my group isn’t drinking, do they need to book in?
Yes, everyone who requires a seat during a tasting needs to book in (children included). If someone is not drinking alcohol in your group, we offer a premium Non-Alcoholic Tasting substitution. This tasting is also $10 per head and can be selected on the second page of the booking process.
- The date I’m looking to book for isn’t available?
We are currently only taking bookings a short time in advance and are only open Friday to Monday from January onwards, excluding public holidays.
- Can I book a table outside?
Due to our new tasting program, all tastings are conducted inside the Cellar Door. Outdoor dining is reserved for those tasting to enjoy a wine after their tasting outside and not available for casual outdoor dining.
